Rule breaking; Shoes and Shibuhara

Ah rule breaking, I love thee so ♥
Incase you're new, let me brief you about this entry!

Basically, the rule breaking theme is a series of entries all about bending those mythical Gal boundaries
"This isn't Gal, that isn't gal" ...I say make your own Gal ★
Interested? Check out the tag and carry on reading hehe

To start with, there's the "rule" that Gal = heels, heels and ONLY heels
This is far from the truth as seen in the August edition of PopSister with their sneaker take over
There was a lot of lovely designs featured too that I will Tumblr
I was especially in love with a pair of wedged leopard Converse All Stars ♥

Another shoe that caught my eye in PopSister was this
A military boot!
These have been the height of fashion in the UK
It somehow never crossed my mind that I would see them in Japan
They're very mannish in style, which is why I never bought any
Yet they're carried off great in this co-ordinate
I have to give Kudos to those that can make them feminine!

Moving on, after the luck I had whilst reading KERA not so long ago I decided to see what else I could find
and I had an apple fall on the head moment with realisation that the gal within KERA is a relation to ShibuHara style
as pointed out to me in PopSister
Shibuhara style basically takes elements from Harajuku with Shibuya styling
The best Rule Breaking formula around! ★
For a more in depth look about the style I reccomend this LiveJournal entry and Mitsu's entry

Let's have some examples as Gal invades KERA once more

Clear Gal elements to this outfit, and a lot of Gal models sport this bag
I can't remember the brand, but I'm starting to really want it ↓ ↓

A Summer Style double spread, that to me, looks so odd in KERA
You can really see the Shibuya influence here with the maxi dress trend, denim shirts and the final piece

and also
Not excessively Gal, but I can see Usamimi Bunny Bands sneaking their way in
They were a feature item later in the magazine too ★
I hope they are used more, I'd love to see what KERA can do with them!

I was recently asked if perhaps KERA was a magazing worth adding to your reading list if you are a Gal
If you're personally interested in Punk and Lolita styles then sure, it can be interesting and fun to look through
But as for the Gal and Shibuya elements, what I posted was literally all I managed to see from the entire issue
So if you expect more or don't really fancy reading cutlery glasses tutorials, then I guess it's not for you

I always download my magazine scans from the amazing ElectroxCute at LiveJournal ♥
