★ Rule breaking inspiration series ★ Romantic Rock

When it comes to Gal, people tend to focus on one of 2 main looks
One being a sweet girly, Liz Lisa type of style
The other being glamorous and filled with MA*RS

and more recently, Mode style is making an impact and the "grown up"
style is becoming very recognised too

But girls who rock, you can do Gal too
Romantic Rock style is essentially Gal Goth, if you don't mind me saying
and if this interests you, then your number one influence has to be Nonoka ♥

Gal elements here in the makeup, particularly the nude lip
Also note her ear has been stretched, you don't have to be free of body mod's!

As far as I'm aware Non makes these head pieces herself!

RED LIPS.
Though this could be another subject matter of it's own
This lip colour was recently up for discussion in the almight row of "This isn't Gal"
and I think Non is only one of many girls I've seen rock it and break that rule
Much love to those who said "Hey, stick you!" at this accusation ♥

But enough about Nonoka
The mecca for Romantic Rock comes from 109's store tutuHA
Many of you may be familiar with this one piece, a sell out piece last season
It was featured in both Gal magazines and even KERA
I guess RR style could be influenced by Shibuhara in the sense that it takes from both places
Which is great, who needs a Harajuku/Shibuya divide anyway
and if styles are willing to rule break in such a way... more places to shop hehe

I felt as though I couldn't talk about the style without mentioning...
SaraMari of Moments Like Diamonds
I'm sure you already know and love her, but incase you don't
SaraMari is the self proclaimed "Number one Western fan of tutuHA"
and I think she has really helped open the eyes to the Western world of the style
So, I hope she alone through her blog can offer you much more influence on the style than I could
Keep an eye out for her co-ordinate posts (tag here) for inspiration
and she posts a lot of tutuHA on her Tumblr too ♪

On her latest trip to Japan she also met a worker of tutuHA
Whilst tutuHA doesn't currently have a webstore, hopefully you can visit!

The great thing about Romantic Rock is that is can be a perfect middle ground
for those of you leaving rock/visual styles for Gal
It's just all about a difference in accessorising and styling
So no need to get rid of your wardrobe, most of it could still work!

If Romantic Rock isn't for you, I've a more casual/rock inspiration for you soon!
