Why is W♥C so popular? and why do I like W♥C so much?
Questions that have arisen to me lately that I will try to answer
I think I'll have to split this into two post's for the sake of rambling haha, so!
First, why is W♥C popular...
The brand itself is produced by a celebrity, Wakatsuki Chinatsu
So that alone made the brand easily well known
and for it to gain a store in 109 too seriously helps as we know it's a mecca for Gal!
The shop itself in 109 is very unique, super bright and colourful with moving mascots
It's eyecatching and in your face, and I think this is entirely on purpose
Theres also the character, Kumatan, who you can see plastered all over my blogs layout
Characters can be big business in Japan, were all very much aware of Hello Kitty
and Rilakkuma is quite often the mascot for items and promotions in Conbini stores!
Almost everything product and brand in Japan seems to have a character mascot for promotion
Yet, not a lot of Japanese fashion brands do!
So this was a wise marketing strategy on behalf of W♥C
Even if he (or his girlfriend) aren't the centre of a design, they can appear in details
Such as on buttons
W♥C was only recently one years old, so it's still a new brand
People may save money to go to/buy from 109 and only want well known and popular brands
But with bloggers like myself and many others buying W♥C items
I think we have helped bring W♥C to Western Gals for sure!
Showing them all the variations of co ordinations their clothes can create
Whilst the main feel of the brand can be very Shibuhara and kaji
There is also ways to use items to create other looks to match other genres
I like this code so much, I actually own all the pieces! ♥
W♥C is also featured in a lot of magazines and on rather large spreads at times
So it's easy to see why their already eye catching designs will be noticed!
Chinatsu herself is very involved and this helps fans of hers continue to keep in touch with her work
Devotee's will certainly followe her in what she does, and she will gain new ones along the way!
I guess what I've just said can not necessarily be taken as fact
It's just how I perceive W♥C to be popular and well liked!
At the same time, I know many who dislike the brand for their own reasons
So I guess though it tries to be, it cannot be for everybody
