London calling

Creepers are becoming a hot subject for me it seems
Twice now I have wrote about their appearances in Japanese Gal magazines (1 & 2)
and now thanks to a little birdy (@estelicious from Get the look of)
it seems they're here in the UK too

Creepers themselves, as far as I am aware, originated in the UK
Popular in the 70's for the Punk scene, but now are more well known through Japanese fashion

It's not hard to see, and you don't have to look far to realise that S/S 2011
is all about "Old being the new, new" if you will
Vintage fever is taking over with rock and grunge tones in many forms of clothing
But where do the Punk staple shoes fit in with this?!

Here are the 4 kinds Topshop currently have for sale
All are "by Underground" reffering to the manufacturer Underground England

For a few days the leopard print were also available in bright blue suede
This easily linked them to the new colour collection of items from Topshop
But now they are gone, and the rest... where can they fit with the other collections?

Topshops S/S 2011 so far consists of 4 collection themes, they are
Graduation - Preppy, vintage inspired, blazers, wide legs, button ups, platforms etc...

New age constellation - Architectural, luxury, minimalist, asymmertry etc...

Snake Valley - snake skin, tie-dye, festicals, feathers, moccasins etc...

Swedish Summer - 70's, florals, crochet, chiffon etc...

Click on the names/links of the collections will take you to their key pieces
Creepers don't appear in any of these!
Even the Topshop blog held no answers, only a brief mention of the shoe
In a single entry made last year

So far it seems they are a stand alone attempting to take the fashion world by storm
Yet, will they be successful? Will they find their place?
Or is this simple a risk? I am interested in seeing how this plays out
Let's keep our eyes peeled for Creepers and their fashionista owners ♥

Taking the creeper out of it's punk rock origin, how do you see these being worn?
